Qatalum

Qatalum is the largest Greenfield Aluminium project ever to be executed. The project is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Hydro. When the plant comes in operation in late 2009 it will be one of the largest and most competitive primary aluminium plants in the world, with a production capacity of 585,000 MT per year. The smelter, casthouse, carbon and power plant will employ between 1100 - 1200 people. The plant is located at Mesaieed in Qatar, some 40 kilometers from the capital Doha. We are currently looking for highly qualified staff to join us in building this world-class organization.

HSE Department

Environmental Monitoring Coordinator
Provide environmental sampling, monitoring and reports on results of information, and advice on how to deal with the results. Provide technical expertise, leadership and support in the environment area. Bachelor degree in environmental sciences or similar discipline. Minimum 3 years experience in similar position in production/industrial operations. Experience in environmental monitoring requirements in aluminium and/or power industry would be an advantage.

Environmental Service Coordinator
Provide environmental sampling, monitoring and reports on results of information, and advice on how to deal with the results. Ensure effective application of waste management and landscaping requirements. Provide technical expertise, leadership and support in the environment area. Bachelor degree in environmental sciences or similar discipline. Minimum 3 years experience in similar position in a production/industrial environment. Experience in environmental monitoring requirements in aluminium and/or power industry would be an advantage.

HSE Statistic & Reports
Responsible for HSE communications, including processing and distribution of all HSE statistical data and reports. Provide primary support to Company employees on HSE Systems and Programs. Bachelor degree in communication, information technology or Commerce, with at least 2 years experience in a similar position, or Diploma with 5 years experience. Must be fluent in English language (written and spoken - knowledge of Arabic an advantage). Experience in SAP and MS Office.

Logistics Department

Transport Coordinator - Europe and America Monitor, manage and coordinate all activities related to ocean transport activities for metal to the European and the American markets. Bachelor degree in relevant discipline. 3 to 5 years experience in planning position within a shipping/ transportation organization. MS Office and SAP system. Fluency in English.

Transport Coordinator – Asia
Monitor, manage and coordinate all activities related to ocean transport activities for metal to the Asian markets. Bachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent. 5 to 8 years experience in transport related industry. Fluent in English. MS Office and SAP. Fast and accurate input of data.

Logistics Coordinator
Perform administration functions related to process and support in issuing shipping documents. Bachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent. 3-5 years experience. Knowledge of SAP system, and skill in time management. Fluent in English. Fast and accurate input of data.

Shipping Coordinator
Monitor, manage and coordinate internal transportation of metal products between the Casthouse and port. Relevant university degree with 3 to 5 years experience in planning position within a shipping/transportation establishment. MS Office and SAP experience. Fluent in English.

HR Department

Training & Development Supervisor
(Technical, Administration, Carbon, Casthouse, or Reduction).

Responsible for training within field of expertise (Technical, Administration, Cabon, Casthouse, or Reduction). Prepare, develope and deliver training materials and schedule to meet company competency based learning principles and requirements. Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent. Broad experience and skills in field of specific responsibility i.e. (Technical, Administration, Carbon, Casthouse, Reduction). Minimum 5 years experience as instructor in listed disciplines within heavy industry, or as trainer or technical teacher in Training & Development. Higher qualifications in disciplines would be an advantage.

Procurement Department

Shipping & Expediting Specialists
Manage transportation and movement of Raw Materials, Supplies, Equipments and Spare Parts to and from different locations worldwide. Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline. 10 years experience in Supply Chain Logistics Management. Experience in Quality Management concepts (ISO 9000 Series), MS Office and SAP modules.

Shipping Assistant
Assist in materials clearance activities with government agencies such as Customs, Civil Defense, Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Environment Protection. HND or equivalent. Minimum 3 years experience in SCM Logistics. Knowledge of international business practices and dealing with local and international vendors. Fluent in English, computer literate, knowledge and experience in SAP.

Senior Buyer
Responsible for procurement activities locally, regionally and internationally. Must have knowledge of supplier market, products and its availability. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to imports to Qatar. Bachelor degree in commerce or engineering discipline. 5 years experience in an industrial establishment.

Buyer
Perform technical discussion and commercial negotiation with vendors and contractors for department level tenders. Bachelor degree in engineering discipline. 8 years experience in procurement environment. Computer literate (MS office) and SAP experience.

Assistant Buyer
Undertake purchasing activities, locally, regionally and internationally. Must be capable of creative thinking to handle the daily challenges of purchasing. High School Certificate to, university degree preferable. 6 years experience in SCM in industrial environment. Fluent in English, Computer literate (MS office) and SAP experience.

Head of Warehouse Operations
Develop and control all activities at the main warehouse. Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. MBA an advantage. 10 years experience in SCM, control and distribution of materials and warehouse management. Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP.

Warehouse Supervisor
Manage and control materials movement at main warehouse. Includes receipt, checking, and efficient storage of purchased materials. Timely service to internal user departments. Bachelor degree in Science or engineering discipline. 8 to 10 years experience. MS Office, MS Project and SAP.

Storeman
Provide administrative service in Warehouse. HND or equivalent. 5 year s experience in material management environment. Knowledge of MS Office and SAP. Fluent in English Language.
