    Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

    Our client is an established and highly ambitious Oil & Gas Operator with assets in 16 countries worldwide.
    They have a requirement for a Chief Petroleum Engineer to lead their team in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
    You will have demonstrable reservoir/production engineering support experience, working within a multidisciplinary subsurface team in support of field development.

    You will have proven management skills and the ability to lead a team. Candidates must be coming from a strong Technical PE background.

    This role will require a high level of interaction with other sections of business - Well services / Drilling / Completions.

    Reporting to the Geoscience Manager, you will carry out Petroleum Engineering studies, oversee and coach/mentor junior PE engineers in work across a large number of offshore/SNS gas projects.

    This is a staff role and candidates must be looking for long term development within the organisation.

    Requirements
    * Degree in Petroleum Engineering
    * Relevant experience in oil/gas industry - minimum of 12 years following graduation.
    * Solid background in a development and production environment.
    * Experience of industry standard software packages. In particular familiarity with Prosper, Mbal, GAP and OFM.
    * Ability to train and mentor junior members of staff.
    * Thorough knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals.
    * Good understanding of the principles of field development planning.

    Key responsibilities:
    * Reservoir monitoring and reporting to both partners and authorities.
    * Carry out petroleum engineering studies.
    * Communicate through verbal, presentation and written medium, the progress and the findings of the study.
    * Participate and coordinate HQ production group studies.
    * Ensure good data transmission, well operation time schedule and related field observation to HQ engineers.
    * In coordination with subsidiary's production department, ensure that approved recommendations are implemented.
    * Responsible of the production database which includes monthly allocation, well tests, parameters, events, deviation and static pressure data.
    * Responsible for both data quality and data entry process from the field to HQ.
    * Prepares well surveillance plans, processes and tools for efficiently monitoring well performance.
    * Assess and report reservoir and well performance, identify performance deviations, production improvement options and additional surveillance needs.
    * Diagnosis well performance deviations to identify causes. Forwards reservoir issues to reservoir engineers/Geoscience Manager.
    * Coordinate with drilling and operations to schedule well and reservoir surveillance data gathering activities in the field to minimize the impact.
    * Well Optimization & Well test planning/design and interpretation
