    Geologist Job For Malaysia Branch Office

    PT SRMI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Straits Trading Amalgamated Resources (Singapore) Private Limited. In line with our expansion plans, we are looking for suitable candidates to fill in the following position.

    Geologist
    (Expatriate position - To be based in SRM, Malaysia Branch Office)

    The Person:
    Prepared to travel and to be stationed in exploration/ mining projects in any part of the world.
    Willing to work hard under trying conditions.
    Willing to work under odd / long hours.
    Ability to work as a team and willing to learn.
    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    Requirements:
    Degree in Geology.
    Working experience in alluvial mines, coal mines, nickel-lateritic mines, open pit and underground hard rock mining.
    Must be conversant in English.
    Computer and report writing skills.
    Knowledge of geology software (Micromine / Surpac / Datamine) would be advantage.

    Responsibilities:
    To report directly to the Head of Strategic Planning & Investment, SRM Malaysia.
    To review and assess resource based projects (tin, coal, gold, base metals, nickel etc) from ‘exploration green field’ to mining projects all over the world.
    To propose and conduct exploration programs together with budget requirements and approvals.
    Scope of work includes; geological mapping, sampling, report writing, prepare and regularly update mine plans on geology, mineralization, alteration and structures, organise/ supervise drilling/ sampling operations at mine and exploration areas, assist in geological modeling and evaluation of ore reserves.
