    Data Centre Operations Manager

    Requirements:

    Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
    At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
    Applicants should be Malaysian, Singaporean, Filipino, Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Bangladesh, others, others citizens or hold relevant residence status.
    Preferably Managers specializing in IT/Computer - Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.

    The Data Centre Operations Manager - has the delegated accountability to define, develop and manage the delivery of data centre services. As a member of the Data Centre team, the post participates in the development and execution of the global strategy, policy, processes and standards necessary for the delivery of globally consistent world class data centre services.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    The post ensures world class operational integrity and is accountable for the successful delivery of operational services.
    Range of activities includes:
    Manage the Data centre operations
    Ensure a world class infrastructure runs within the Data centre.
    Ensure data centre operates in compliance with DCT standards and all regulatory requirements including HSE, Security, HR, Ethics, data protection, etc
    Monitoring existing processes and procedures and ensure that they are followed
    Generate regular reports and escalate issues in a timely manner to Data Centres Manager
    Acquire, deploy and manage all server-related IT and backup infrastructure within the Data Centre
    Manage services delivered by SDOs and the associated contracts
    Introduce / maintain Service Level Agreements for the SDOs and vendors for Data centre and conduct Quarterly Supplier Performance Reviews
    Lead, direct and resource the data centre services to meet Global Operations Service Catalogue deliverables.
    Provide sound financial management for the data centre operations.
    Create the annual Plan and ensure actual spending is aligned with the Plan.
    Interface with DCT Segment & Functions project managers to ensure seamless transition of systems into data centre operations.
    Drive continuous improvement in operations, cost and quality performance
    Manage the capacity allocation within the data centre.
    Ensure the data is complete and accurate
    Approve GSMS changes and attend the Change Advisory Board every week
    Track and provide monthly KPIs on the data centre performance


    Required Skills/Education/Work Experience

    Experience and knowledge:
    Industry track record, and at least 5 years of managing data centre services.
    ITIL Foundation accreditation essential; Practitioner will be an added advantage.
    Previous experience of racking, stacking and patching within an IT environment (5 years)
    Previous experience of server hardware maintenance within an IT environment (5 years)
    Previous experience of server configuration and management within an IT environment (5 years)
    Experience of dealing with a broad range of IT staff including (but not limited to) internal/external SDO’s and project managers to ensure work is completed as specified
    In depth understanding of the ITIL framework
    Good working knowledge of the technology, processes and standards required for the delivery of data centre services.
    Detailed understanding of the regulatory environment with respect to Data facilities, SOX, and Disaster Recovery
    Experience working with and within large, multi-location teams, with excellent people skills including adaptive management, active listening and network building.
    Extensive experience of industry-leading disaster recovery approaches and capabilities.
